Type Factory

When considering aspects of my designs i will need to think about the following things:

*Only choose two fonts (to keep my brand looking professional)
*Carefully consider hierarchy of titles, body copy and logo design.
*Always consider my target audience, which is school children, designers and tourists (who could be foreign)
*Carefully choose colours for brand identity to make my design look professional yet appealing to my whole target audience.
*Be consistent using appropriate grids throughout all related material.
*Consider use of professional sizes for appropriate materials (leaflet for example) and print finishes, that would be feasible across a range of materials and designs.
*Preparing for print (considering things such as full bleed imagery and alignment to fold properly.
*Quality photographs used that are appropriate to their use.
* A call to action to be included in the leaflet or promo piece to entice people to revisit and to tell other people about the museum.

I will also need to consider what range of products and applications that my designs could be utilised as or with, such as:

Vinyl wall stickers for exhibition details.
Museum signage for directions/sections of the museum.
Vinyl/painted directional arrows for the floor.
Promotional and informative leaflets/flyers
Signage for shop products
Signage and material for the Café
Branding/logo placement or method of application for gift shop bags.

This brief requires the deliverables to be placed in a gridded format and to show at least three/four spreads from the promotional leaflet, as well as treatments for the front and back covers. This is due to it being set by the ISTD and focusing on typography. This is not what interests me about this brief so i will only be producing treatments for front and back and one spread. This is because it is only a two week brief and i have chosen this brief to design a brand and an identity of a more commercial brief. This was in response to feedback from designers i have contacted showing them my portfolio, and they mentioned that i needed more commercial work.
